CatExpress offers simple, fast and efficient copy cataloging by providing access to over 82 million catalog records through an easy-to-use Web interface.

The source of catalog records in CatExpress is WorldCat, OCLC's online union catalog containing over 65 million catalog records for books, video recordings (VHS and DVD), sound recordings (LPs and CDs), foreign language materials, and more. Basic and Advanced search screens in CatExpress facilitate fast and precise searching of WorldCat. A workform is available for adding local data (optional) to your copies of records, and an easy process follows for downloading your files of records (in the MARC format) for importation into your library automation system. CatExpress includes self-help online learning aids, and for further assistance, Nylink's staff of experienced librarians are available for user support. Access to CatExpress, including Nylink support, is covered by an annual subscription fee that is based on your anticipated cataloging volume.

The benefits of using CatExpress are not limited to easily and efficiently obtaining catalog records. WorldCat, your source of records in CatExpress, is not only a database of catalog records, but is also a worldwide union catalog containing holdings information for all libraries that catalog with OCLC. As a CatExpress user, your library's holdings (for those items you catalog with CatExpress) would be automatically included in WorldCat. This enhances the visibility of your library collection and increases your potential for participating in resource sharing with other libraries.
