OCLC Connexion Client, a flexible and powerful Windows-based interface to the OCLC Connexion cataloging system, offers new functionality, including an easy-to-use Windows interface for WorldCat searching and editing, controlling headings (automated heading verification), enhanced local and online save file and constant data file searching and management, larger record size, and support for non-latin scripts, currently including Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese and Korean. OCLC Connexion Client, a flexible and powerful Windows-based interface to the OCLC Connexion cataloging system, offers new functionality, including an easy-to-use Windows interface for WorldCat searching and editing, controlling headings (automated heading verification), enhanced local and online save file and constant data file searching and management, larger record size, and support for non-latin scripts, currently including Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese and Korean.
The Client provides full OCLC online cataloging functionality, which includes menus, icons, and customizable keystrokes available for every command. Users may record macros or write them using OCLC Macro Language. Macros allow the cataloger to combine commands, streamline workflow and repetitive activites, and create customized pre-programmed routines. Macros may be mapped to the toolbar or the keyboard, which allows users to execute them with a single keystroke or click. In addition to online functionality, the Connexion Client also supports batch processing, offline editing, and local files for bibliographic records, authority records, bibliographic constant data and authorities constant data.
