LAND Missing or Damaged Items Report
Please check with the borrowing library before filing a lost or damaged item claim. Remember, borrowed items are the borrowing library’s responsibility until they are returned to you.
Nylink claims no liability for loss of, or damage to, materials shipped through LAND unless it can be specifically proven that the loss or damage was caused by a LAND driver’s carelessness or negligence. In accordance with the Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States, the borrowing library is responsible for the material from the time it leaves the lending library until it is returned to the lending library. If the book cannot be located, regardless of the cause, then the borrowing library should reimburse the lending library for the cost of the material.
For materials lost or damaged due to the LAND courier’s carelessness or negligence, the library will be reimbursed up to $100 per item. Reimbursement is limited to replacement costs for the item only, and may not include service or other fees.
