Building Better Boards
A well functioning board is essential to the success of any library, museum or cultural heritage organization. A supportive board assists in securing funding, building community buy-in and achieving your strategic vision and plans. A dysfunctional board can bring misery to all involved.
After this class you will be able to:
- Identify the elements of a healthy board.
- Evaluate and assess the strengths and weaknesses of your board.
- Build on board strengths, interests and relationships.
- Develop strategies for communicating and getting buy-in.
- Identify ways to educate your board.
- Recruit and retain good board members.
