FirstSearch Counter Release 2 Reports Available June 10

Beginning on May 21, a new tab became available in the OCLC Online Statistics module at http://stats.oclc.org. COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources) Release 2 reports were added for FirstSearch, measuring database and journal usage in a standardized format. Libraries can now see COUNTER report statistics for a part of April 2006 and for the entire month of May 2006. Reports can be exported in Excel or CSV format.

Please note the data in these reports will be missing or incomplete until June 10, 2006, and the date range is intentionally incorrect. It was necessary for OCLC to have the data templates installed before they begin loading data.

OCLC is applying to Project COUNTER for compliancy certification for Release 2 and will make an announcement via listserv when that certification is received. More information on the COUNTER statistics can be found at http://www.projectcounter.org.
