ISO Country Codes Improved in WorldCat Resource Sharing and FirstSearch

On Sunday, February 11, the display of library holdings in WorldCat Resource Sharing and OCLC FirstSearch was improved. Library holdings displays now show the English name for the ISO country codes in the English interface for all of the world, except the US and Canada. For US and Canadian libraries, the holdings will continue to display as the ISO country code followed by the state or province code. So for example an Ohio library will continue to appear as US,OH and an Ontario library will continue to appear as CA,ON. However, the other countries will be represented by the country name. The other language interfaces will continue to display the country of the holding by using the ISO country code. Future planned improvements will have the country codes spelled out into the language for the other interfaces.
