BioOne

BioOne.1 and 2 are the product of collaboration between scientific societies, libraries, academe and the private sector. Available together or separately, the modules are an aggregation of the full texts of high-impact bioscience research journals focused on biological, ecological and environmental sciences.

Most of BioOne's titles are published by small societies and non-commercial publishers that have been previously available only in printed form. BioOne has thoroughly linked and made easily-accessible core research in the biosciences. It is a cost-effective alternative to high-priced commercially published.

• Monthly usage reports are provided in a web-accessible format for viewing; a plain-text format for printing, and a tab-delimited format for downloading.
• Reports are cumulated annually.
• Institutional access to BioOne is controlled through IP address recognition.
• Validation by a user name and password combination.
• BioOne can send an email when the latest issues of journals on BioOne are published online.
• Searches in BioOne are done across all journals, volumes, and issues in the collection unless restricted by the user to particular journals or date ranges.
• An A & I database from CSA is available to BioOne subscribers at no additional charge.
• Journals in the BioOne collection are linked from citations in an article to the abstract/full-text of the article cited and from errata to the original article and vice-versa.
• All tables of contents and abstracts, both in "Current Issues" and in "Journal Archives" are browsable.
• BiOne features a dynamic "just in time" link resolver for linking from article citations to articles in BioONe as well as in a number of external article databases accessible on the web.
